Window Gardening in Havasu

Hey there!  You guys remember my little plants at Relief Society Meeting?  The green onions and lettuce are 10days old..............just take about 1 inch of stalk of the green onions and the root of the lettuce and put in a little jar of water.  Voila..........a perpetual garden right before your very eyes.  You can continue to "harvest" and they will continue to grow.  My green onions are ready to chop down ---I had to put a rubber band on them they were getting so big....can we say salad "here we come" !  I'd like to see green onions in a garden grow this fast........lol....deb

P.S.  will get some pics of our "square foot garden" ....it's coming along!

Perpetual Green Onions on your windowsill!

Want an endless supply of Green Onions?  Don't throw away the roots..........place the root stocks into a small container with water.  They will immediately begin to grow.  Just trim off what you need with kitchen shears.........they will continue to grow!   Who knew!  lol  (don't forget to periodically rinse roots and replenish water!)
